Study: Streams Stressed by Pharmaceutical Pollution

The paper, written with input from researchers at Indiana University and Loyola University Chicago, highlights the ecological cost of pharmaceutical waste and the need for more research into environmental impacts. Local Ordinance Resource

Hugh Farber There is a new, developing web site considered a resource for local officials and jurisdictions, e.g., townships, that will offer scientific, legal and regulatory references as well as model lake and stream friendly ordinances to help officials interested in maintaining and improving the quality of the water resource in their area. Although not yet complete, this web site should offer information valuable to those riparian owners interested in this subject independent of the regulatory aspect. Read more

March 2013 Membership Report

With the arrival of March we anticipate more fluctuations of weather, resulting in a reduction of snowfall and an increase in rainfall. While some might grumble at the prospect of fewer winter activities and sloppy weather for a while, we look forward to other changes in coming months. We will lose the heavy clothes and multiple layers, schedule dock installation, move lawn furniture out onto porches and lawns, and look forward to those golden days reveling in and on the water, and basking in the sun.
